A beautiful beach elopement.

Ali and Colin came to Palm Cove for holiday from the UK and decided to get married while they were here. They chose a pristine deserted beach between Palm Cove and Port Douglas. They were happy to not have any guests at their wedding but were looking forward to sharing the photos with friends and family when they returned home.

The sun came out and so did a rainbow. A beautiful carefree day with an amazing holiday to follow.

Clint & Libby – A beautiful small wedding at Bali Hai and Oak Beach

Libby and the girls got ready in the serenity of  ‘Bali Hai’ villas – an Executive Retreats property.  Blush took care of  hair and makeup and the spectacular wedding flowers were by ‘Flowers and Lace’ of Cairns.

The ceremony was organised by Kay Earl, and held on the grounds of  Thala Beach Lodge – Libby walked down from the resort through the rainforest and palm grove to meet her groom on Oak Beach.

Back at Bali Hai, A simple and elegant reception setup was arranged by Port Douglas Catering, with a long table seating all the guests under a bamboo grove.

Sascha and Simone – Elopement at the Sea Temple Port Douglas

This lovely couple decided to run away from their busy Sydney lives for a little and get married in Port Douglas!  Whilst making the call to elope can make a wedding day so much easier, a great venue and beautiful weather also helps.  Sascha and Simone chose the Sea Temple – getting ready together there before walking down through the resort to a Four mile beach for the ceremony with Celebrant Sarah Woods.  The images here were taken on the beach and in town at Rex Smeal Park for sunset.

Paul and Joanne – An intimate wedding at Little Cove, Port Douglas

Escaping to Port Douglas for a very intimate wedding with just 4 guests, Paul and Jo also brought along some scottish tradition and a splash of colour.  The ceremony was held at Little Cove (next to Rex Smeal Park) not far from the main street of Port Douglas.  This location makes for an easy walk to and from local accommodation and of course to the Courthouse Hotel for a celebratory drink!

Jo explained that having a very small wedding with one family member and one friend each was to alleviate the problem of trying to get both our families together on the one continent.  She said “It will be a surprise to my family who I neglected to tell about our engagement some 15 months ago.  At the moment Mum thinks she’s just coming on a holiday with the two of us.  I’ll have to deal with the consequences and my three sisters later!!!”

After a ceremony hosted by Natasha Kollosche, photos were taken in nearby areas of Rex Smeal Park, near St Mary’s by the Sea, and the historic Sugar Wharf.

Anthony and Angela…. Four Mile Beach Port Douglas Elopement

Anthony and Angela were married in a beautiful beachside ceremony by celebrant Sarah Woods.  After arriving together at Baler St, their vows took place in a palm grove looking over four mile beach…  Angela tells their story:

We have been friends a long time, Ant went to high school with my best friend from primary school.

Anthony always knew we would end up together. I went travelling for about 3 ½ years and I would write him hand written letters. When I got back I realised I loved him too!

There was no proposal, we just decided to run away and get married to save all the hassle of planning a wedding. Our parents are all disappointed that they aren’t invited, that’s partly why we are having you take beautiful photos, to give to them.  We have been to Port Douglas once before and loved it, so that’s why we thought we would get married there. We love swimming in the sea and we have wanted to go back to Nautilus ever since we had dinner there last time!
